The federal government’s new “Nigeria First” campaign could generate an estimated ₦3 trillion if Nigerians embrace local products, according to the Minister of State for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Senator John Enoh.
Enoh disclosed this during a briefing ahead of the West Africa Industrialisation, Manufacturing & Trade Summit (West Africa IMT) scheduled for October 21–23, 2025, in Lagos.
The initiative, championed by President Tinubu, is designed to promote local manufacturing, encourage consumption of Made-in-Nigeria goods, and reduce dependency on imports.
According to the minister, if effectively implemented, the policy could deliver short-term economic gains while laying the foundation for sustainable industrial growth. He stressed that the Lagos summit will serve as a platform to boost African manufacturing, empower MSMEs, and strengthen trade across the continent.
